Cable rates have been on the rise, customer service has been declining and consumers are being denied the latest in technological advances. But help is now on the way.

On December 21, 2007, Governor Jim Doyle signed the Wisconsin Video Competition Act into law. Thanks to Governor Doyle and bill sponsors, State Senator Jeff Plale and State Representative Phil Montgomery, this legislation will eliminate the cable companies' monopoly on cable service and open up the market to competition.

Despite this incredible victory, we know we must continue to be vigilant to make sure that all consumers benefit from this new legislation.

We need to spread the word and let our friends, neighbors, and elected officials know: Wisconsin consumers deserve competition in the cable market.
